Two-body Coulomb problem and g(2) algebra (once again about the Hydrogen atom)

چکیده

Taking the Hydrogen atom as an example it is shown that if symmetry of a three-dimensional system O(2)⊕Z2, variables (r,ρ,φ) allow separation variable φ, and eigenfunctions define new family orthogonal polynomials in two variables, (r,ρ2). These are related to finite-dimensional representations algebra gl(2)⋉R3∈g(2) (discovered by S Lie around 1880 which went almost unnoticed), occurs hidden G2 rational integrable 3 bodies on line with 2- 3-body interactions (the Wolfes model). Namely, those occur intrinsically study Zeeman effect atom. It quasi-exactly-solvable generalized Coulomb problem polynomial (r,ρ2)-variables found.

Once again about interchain hopping

Renormalization group equations and a phase diagram are derived for a system of two chains with a single-electron hopping between chains in order to correct the results of a recent paper by F. V. Kusmartsev, A. Luther, and A. Nersesyan, Pis’ma v Zh. Exp. Teor. Fiz. 55, 692 (1992) [JETP Lett. 55, 724 (1992)]. In a recent paper [1], the effect of a single-electron hopping (SEH) between chains in ...

Hyperspherical Coulomb spheroidal representation in the Coulomb three-body problem

The new representation of the Coulomb three-body wave function via the well-known solutions of the separable Coulomb two-centre problem φj(ξ, η) = Xj(ξ)Yj(η) is obtained, where Xj(ξ) and Yj(η) are the Coulomb spheroidal functions. Its distinguishing characteristic is the coordination with the boundary conditions of the scattering problem below the three-particle breakup. That is, the wave funct...

Measurement without Theory, Once Again

Bailey and Collins (2011) argue that Greenwood, Seshadri, and Vandenbroucke’s (2005) hypothesis that the baby boom was partly due to a burst of productivity in the household sector is not supported by evidence. This conclusion is based on regression results showing that appliance ownership is negatively correlated with fertility. They also argue that the Amish, who limit the use of modern techn...
